On Nov. 26, county council approved signing a purchase contract with the Alberta government for approximately 1,874 acres near the Jasper/Hinton airport, valued at about $6.37 million.

Alberta Health Services (AHS) says this interruption is due to the inability to secure physician coverage.

The utility rates, which will eventually double, are meant to cover increasing water and sewer costs, due mainly to aging infrastructure, and fund a new water treatment plant.
