Parks Canada and the Municipality of Jasper have eliminated many bear attractants from the townsite, but fruit trees are still bringing in bears, like this one pictured in 2019.

Cory Wallace, a champion mountain bike racer, has organized four fundraisers with friends in Nepal to give back to the community that has shown him great hospitality during his unexpected 11-month stay.

Marco Bulfon received the top fundraiser award in his age category at the Stollery Superstars Party in Edmonton on September 12. From 2017 to 2019 Marco raised a total of $11,821.28.

Since July 28, Jasper Municipal Council has been meeting in-person and streaming meetings online. This week, councillors discussed allowing the public into the room.

There are some local lakes with a notable number of boats that shouldn't be there, said Steve Young, Jasper National Park spokesman. Parks Canada will be tagging unlicensed boats in the area over the next couple of weeks.
