Two people have died following an avalanche on Mount Andromeda at the Columbia Icefields on May 30.
According to a news release, Jasper RCMP were contacted by Parks Canada regarding the avalanche, which had occurred at about 7:45 a.m.
Parks Canada commenced rescue efforts, but Jasper RCMP confirmed that two deceased have been recovered from the scene.
On June 3, RCMP confirmed the identities of the two climbers as a 30-year-old male from Innisfail and a 28-year-old male from Cochrane.
Police said no further updates are anticipated.
