The mysterious private block booking has officially been cancelled for Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge with reservations once again reopening.
Last month, ABC’s The Bachelorette was rumoured to be the reason why the hotel had been privately booked for nine weeks beginning the end of February.
Reality Steve, a television writer, later tweeted that the show had scrapped plans to film its 17th season there due to new federal travel restrictions and is now looking at U.S. resorts.
In a Feb. 22 email statement, the hotel explained how the pandemic has been “particularly hard” on the tourism sector, citing “a tremendous number of lay-offs and significantly reduced hours for many of our hardworking colleagues and their families.”
“We felt that the decision, while difficult, to accept a private booking was the best one for our employees,” the statement read.
“However, the private booking has now been cancelled and hotel reservations are once again open.”
Jasper Park Lodge did not disclose details of the private booking in order to safeguard the privacy of its guests.
