
Jasper RCMP confirmed the identities of the two climbers who died as a result of an avalanche on Mount Andromeda on May 30.
The victims were a 30-year-old male from Innisfail and a 28-year-old male from Cochrane.
Police did not release the names of the deceased, but the families have confirmed the victims are Andrew Abel of Innisfail and Nathaniel Johnson of Cochrane, who were good friends and avid climbers.
Jasper RCMP thanked those who assisted in the rescue, including Parks Canada, STARS, emergency medical services and two private helicopter companies.
