A 41-year-old Edmonton woman fell to her death in Gorby “Bullshit” Canyon on Aug. 26.

At about 3 p.m. police were alerted by Parks Canada that a hiker had fallen. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Gorby Canyon is about 4.5 kilometres east of the entrance to Maligne Canyon in Jasper National Park.

“Obviously our thoughts are with the family,” Cpl. Chris Warren with RCMP media relations said on Tuesday. “At this point we don’t know the cause of death other than the fall. It’s a tragic accident.”
