Hinton RCMP arrested a 30-year-old male who was wanted for numerous property offences and had fled from police while driving a stolen vehicle.

On Nov. 22, police were conducting patrols in Hinton when they located a stolen vehicle in Hardisty Creek Village at 10:07 p.m.

Mounties attempted to stop the vehicle, which subsequently fled and damaged a fence on the property while doing so.

Hinton RCMP recovered the stolen vehicle a short distance away, but the individual had fled the area and was not immediately located.

Around two hours later, police received reports of a male wanted on warrants

The suspect was then located and arrested near a residence.

Police say the arrested man was the same suspect who had fled from police in the stolen vehicle.

Lucas Dave Beaulieu, 30, of Hinton was charged with flight from peace officer, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, mischief under $5,000, fail to comply with an undertaking condition and possession of methamphetamine.

Beaulieu was also charged for numerous property-related offences in the Hinton and Yellowhead County area from September to November.

These charges include flight from peace officer, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, two counts of fail to comply with an undertaking condition, theft over $5,000 and theft under $5,000.

He also had an outstanding warrant for arrest from the Edmonton Police Service for two counts of fail to attend court and one count of fail to provide proof of insurance

Following a judicial hearing, Beaulieu was released on conditions and is scheduled to appear again in Hinton Provincial Court on Dec. 1.
