A combination of bluegrass and punk sounds like the rock band equivalent of backyard wrestling.
Throw in some energy and a good cause, though, and a great reason to hit the Olive Bistro on a Friday night comes together.
The Olive is hosting Skateraid in support of the Jasper Skatepark Committee starting at 6 p.m. April 19.
The Still Spirits have been “been selling an intoxicating blend of bluegrass, spiked with the pure passion of punk rock, all across Western Canada” for nearly a decade, according to Skateraid organizers.
“Bringing a thirst quenching fury to dance floors and back yard barn-burners, these fine fellows present a live energy that can only truly experienced properly amongst the thriving crowds at one of their hooch-fueled hootenannies.”
The one-time street buskers warn ticket holders to “ready your livers and shine up your dance shoes.”
