Readers are recognizing local businesses once again for their outstanding service in the third-annual Readers’ Choice Awards.
Organized by the Jasper Fitzhugh, this year’s awards saw 237 readers vote for their favourite businesses through our online platform. The five category families were business, food and beverage, best eating, miscellaneous and top businesses.
Olive Bistro and Louge swept the awards this year, earning the coveted Business of the Year award. It earned a total of nine wins and was a runner-up in 10 categories.
The Raven Bistro won Best Restaurant of the year, in addition to Best Vegan / Vegetarian. It was also a runner-up in eight categories.
Mad Grizzly, meanwhile, has burst onto the scene as the Best New Business.
Winners and the runners-up were informed beforehand so they had the chance to buy an ad to highlight their win ad thank voters.
Of course, not every business was able to afford an ad, which is understandable, but all winners and the runners-up got their names in the paper no matter what.
Were you not recognized this year? When we launch our awards again next year, businesses can let their social media followers or customers know about the opportunity to vote. Those who spread the news frequently perform the best in these awards.
A Readers’ Choice Award cannot be bought. It can only be earned. Thank you, and be sure to shop local, because these businesses need your support.
Congratulations to the winners listed here, and thank you for everything you do for the community.
And thank you for advertising. Your support keeps local news viable and Jasperites informed.
See you again for next year’s Readers’ Choice!
