Albertans now need proof of vaccination with a QR code to access businesses and venues implementing the Restrictions Exemption Program.
Starting Nov. 15, immunization records without a QR code will no longer be accepted.
Patrons will have to show one of the following:
- Alberta vaccine record with a QR code
- Canadian Armed Forces vaccine record
- First Nations immunization record
- Vaccine records issued by other provinces and territories
- ArriveCan app for international travellers and valid international travel identity document
- Negative privately paid COVID-19 test from within the previous 72 hours
- Valid proof of medical exemption
Records can be printed or displayed on a phone.
The AB COVID Records Verifier App can be used to confirm their patrons’ vaccination status and scan records with QR codes issued by other provinces and territories.
The government says other provinces and territories are currently testing using their apps to scan Alberta’s vaccine records.
The enhanced Alberta vaccine record is available through alberta.ca/CovidRecords, by visiting a registry agent office or by calling 811.
