Alberta Health has declared an outbreak of COVID-19 from a series of private gatherings in Jasper.
The outbreak investigation opened on July 25.
According to Alberta Health, the outbreak involved individuals who work in the hospitality industry attending a series of private gatherings.
There are currently 23 cases – 16 active, seven recovered – associated with the outbreak as of Aug. 3.
Alberta Health did not identify the individuals or provide further information about the outbreak.
In total, there are currently 21 active cases of COVID-19 in Jasper.
Data from Alberta Health shows that in total, there have been 263 cases of COVID-19 in Jasper, with 236 recoveries and six deaths.
In addition, 4,003 residents (79 per cent of those 12+) have received at least one dose of the vaccine, while 3,518 residents (69.4 per cent of those 12+) are fully immunized.
