No proof of vaccination will be required when voting at the Jasper Activity Centre in the federal election, but voters should expect some health restrictions at the polls.

Capacity has been restricted to one third of fire code capacity, and there will be mandatory masking and physical distancing.

Attendees must be with household members only, or two close contacts if they live alone.

This announcement comes after the province announced health restrictions and new vaccine requirements on Sept. 15.

Requirements for the municipal election are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

The federal election is scheduled for Sept. 20.

Activity Centre update

Starting Sept. 21, the Restriction Exemption Program will be in place at the Jasper Activity Centre.

All public access will take place through the north doors, which is the Bonhomme Street side.

Users will have to check in at the front desk upon entry and provide proof of vaccination, medical exemption or negative COVID test as per provincial guidelines.

All users who provide proofs as described above will be entered into a weekly draw for a 10-punch pass for recreation facilities.
