When it comes to epic monster movies, Godzilla vs. Kong went beyond my expectations. I have a soft spot for Godzilla movies, and King Kong films are some of my favorites. The budget for monster classics is always insane because of the elaborate special effects. Godzilla vs. Kong pushes the budget at around $180 million. The money is well spent, because the CGI is top notch and we are entertained by the two magnificent characters. I was personally rooting for Kong the entire film, but Godzilla somehow won me over for a few moments.

I often wonder who comes up with the ideas for a film like Godzilla vs. Kong. The first time audiences were introduced to Godzilla and King Kong squaring off against each was 1962. I would surmise there were a couple of guys thinking we should take monster movies to the next level and have the beasts battle each other. There are heroes and villains, and sometimes you have to make the monster the hero.

If you have watched all the others in this series, you have to watch this latest installment. Are you team Kong or team Godzilla? Let me know and we can discuss why Kong is superior.
