An increase in graffiti has been noticed in Jasper by the public and police.

Jasper RCMP have received reports from community members about the noted increase, and noticed an increase in graffiti vandalism especially on trail signage and at rest stop areas.

Sergeant Rick Bidaisee, commander of the Jasper detachment, said: “Jasper RCMP have previously been able to arrest and charge individuals who have chosen to vandalise both private and municipal property, with the assistance of the public who diligently reported damage. 

“Anyone who vandalizes property can be charged with mischief, which is a Criminal Code offence.”

Jasper RCMP would like to remind the public that if your property has been vandalized, make a report to the police by calling 780-852-4848.
