Newcomers to Jasper braved mountain showers Tuesday to learn more about what our town has to offer.
Booths were set up by nearly 30 local resources and activity-based companies at the Summer Welcome Event, which is held annually at Jasper Skytram.
SunDog Tours put on free shuttles to the event and participants received passports to take to each booth to gather stamps and earn a free ride to the top of the mountain.
This year, municipal Councillor Bert Journault was on hand to trade the completed stamp sets for tram tickets.

And Jasper’s own DJ Riki Rocket entertained guests as they ate from the barbecue dinner before heading up the mountain.
The event was a chance for new summer residents to learn about activities and resources in Jasper and eat food from local businesses.
Newcomers learned paddle board skills with Translucid Adventures and tasted free rainbow fudge from OUT Jasper.
Other booths included Parks Canada, the museum, library and arts centre, the Jasper Employment and Education Centre, and the Alpine Club of Canada.
The Summer Welcome Event was presented by Jasper LIFE, Community Outreach Services, the Skytram, Mountain Park Lodges, Dana Hospitality and SunDog tours.
