
Four people have been charged with first degree murder and other charges related to the death of Nature Duperron.
Duperron, 25, was last seen alive in Edmonton in April 2019. She was reported missing on April 15 and her remains were found in an area outside of Hinton later that month.
Duperron's death, believed to have occurred between Edmonton and Hinton on April 7, was investigated as a homicide by Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit and has resulted in a number of arrests and charges.
On April 13, 2020, Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit arrested Tyra Muskego (21) of Onion Lake, Sask., and she is charged with:
- First degree murder
- Kidnapping
- Robbery
Following a judicial hearing she was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in Edmonton Provincial Court on June 5, 2020.
On May 20, 2020, Muskego received a bail hearing and was released on several conditions, including house arrest.
On April 14, 2020, Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit arrested Buddy Rae Underwood (24) of no fixed address, and he is charged with:
- First degree murder
- Kidnapping
- Robbery
Following a judicial hearing he was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in Edmonton Provincial Court on June 5, 2020.
On April 24, 2020, Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit arrested Grayson Eashappie who was an inmate at the Drumheller Institution, and he is charged with:
- First degree murder
- Kidnapping
- Robbery
Following a judicial hearing he was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in Edmonton Provincial Court on June 15, 2020.
On May 21, 2020, Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit obtained an arrest warrant for Kala Leigh Bajusz (31) of Edmonton, Alta., and she is charged with
- First degree murder
- Kidnapping
- Robbery
On May 22, 2020, Bajusz was located in the area of 107 Avenue and 96 Street in Edmonton and she turned herself into the RCMP. Bajusz is currently awaiting a bail hearing.
The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit thanked the public for tips that helped further the investigation, which is still ongoing, but said they are not looking for any other suspects.
As this matter is now before the courts, no further information will be provided.
