Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge (JPL) has launched its own signature lager in partnership with Jasper Brewing Co. and Campio Brewing Co.
Fairmont JPL hosted a lager launch party at Trefoil Lake on Aug. 12 that included a premium barbecue, live music and beer.
“The partnership with our friends at the… Jasper brewpub is an amazing history, and I picked up when this story already started a bit earlier in the years, and it’s synonymous with real partnership,” said Andrea Conte, director of Food and Beverage for Fairmont JPL.
Socrates Korogonas, who is one of the founders of the Bearhill Brewing, the parent company of the two participating brewpubs, emphasized that this new lager was all about partnerships.
“Seventeen years ago, or almost 18 years now, when we started the Jasper Brewing Co., we had no idea where we would go and the commitment we made to not only craft beer but to the community,” Korogonas said.
“Now to see it come together in a partnership like this can and the beer that we created to celebrate is phenomenal. It makes me feel really proud.”
Made in Alberta with Olli heritage barley farmed in Clear Hills, the Jasper Park Lodge Premium Lager is described as having a sharp malt presence, being clean and easy to drink and coming in at a 5.3 per cent alcohol by volume.
“Creating partnerships with local business and sourcing home-grown ingredients supported our vision when creating this craft beer,” said Marc Wawrin, general manager of Fairmont JPL, in a news release.
“As we continuously strive to elevate our authentically local food and beverage offerings for our guests, this lager hopefully promotes further development of other exciting premium signature products on the horizon.”
The craft beer is available for purchase at Fairmont JPL’s Emerald Lounge and Fitzhugh’s Fine Foods as well as Jasper Brewing Co. and will soon be available at other local retailers.
