TORONTO — Five things to watch for in the Canadian business world in the coming week:

Bank earnings

Canada's big banks will report their third-quarter results this week. BMO Financial Group and Scotiabank report their results on Tuesday, followed by Royal Bank of Canada and National Bank on Wednesday. CIBC and TD Bank Group report on Thursday.

Air Canada

Flight attendants at Air Canada will begin voting on a new contract starting on Wednesday. The tentative deal, which ended a strike at the airline, raises wages for the workers and establishes a pay structure for time worked when aircraft are on the ground.

Dollarama results

Dollarama Inc. will release its second-quarter results and hold a conference call with financial analysts on Wednesday, offering a glimpse of consumer spending habits. The retailer recently closed its acquisition of Australian discount retailer the Reject Shop Ltd.

HBC

Hudson's Bay is expected back in court on Thursday and Friday, when it will argue its landlords should be forced to accept a B.C. billionaire as a tenant. Ruby Liu has signed a deal with the fallen retailer to buy 28 of its leases. Three have been approved because they're in her own malls, but landlords don't want her to get the other 25 because they say she does not have a well-conceived plan for how she will use their spaces.

GDP figures

Statistics Canada will release its reading for real gross domestic product for June and the second quarter as a whole on Friday. The agency's early estimate for June showed a rebound of 0.1 per cent for the month and an essentially flat reading for the quarter.
