Whistlers Campground has experienced strong bookings since opening up earlier this month, according to Parks Canada.

Through September, the campground has limited availability for weekdays, and weekends are fully booked.

All the loops are now open with the exception of the Otentiks, which still need some utility work.

The campground reopened to the public on July 12 after two years of modernization work.

It features a new registration centre, 18 new combined washroom and shower facilities, improved campsites and restored roads.

Parks Canada has removed a significant number of dead and dying trees impacted by mountain pine beetle.

Much of the ground was also disturbed due to construction work.

In a Facebook post, Jasper National Park advised users to stay on the pathways as this ground has been seeded.

It also reminded people to bring their own bikes, since there are easy access trails to town and the beaches.

Reservations can be made at reservation.pc.gc.ca or by calling 1-877-RESERVE (1-877-737-3783).
