With the summer season upon, so is the slo-pitch season.

The Jasper Slo-Pitch League started June 14 and will run till Aug. 15, with the playoff weekend being Aug. 14-15.

The league consists of eight teams with all teams playing every Monday and Wednesday night.

All eight team captains, with John Pelosi and Tim Stevens acting as lead league convenors, help run the league committee.

“All teams are extra excited to play and try to put COVID behind us, as last season was a challenge to play through the obstacles of restrictions, so it’s great to play free again,” Pelosi said.

Most of the teams in the league are sponsored by different business within the Jasper community:

  • Penguins - North face
  • Raven Royals - Raven Bistro
  • Barley Kings - Brew Pub
  • Rockies - Whistle Stop Pub
  • Gangsters - Unsponsored
  • Bonestars - JFI Foods
  • Bongs - De’d Dog Bar

The Raven Royals are the defending champions and hope to claim that crown again.
