A Jasper woman was assaulted in the early morning hours of Dec. 6, while returning to her home.
After entering her Patricia Street apartment complex, the woman was attacked by a man who she described as of middle eastern descent with a strong accent, light brown skin, short, dark curly hair and a medium build. He is said to be between 5’6 and 5’8 and was wearing a dark coloured winter jacket at the time.
The assault happened in the hallway of the building, after the man snuck in the door after the woman.
According to a Facebook account that she posted on the Jasper Buy, Sell and Trade the following day, the man fled after she screamed.
That post, which warned the women of Jasper to be aware, has since been removed, following dozens of comments from the community—including some threats toward the assailant, as well as some speculation as to who it might be.
The Jasper RCMP is investigating the assault and is seeking assistance from anyone who might have information.
