Jasper Park Lodge to close by Easter weekend

Jasper Park Lodge will close its doors tomorrow (Friday, April 10) at noon in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

Jasper Park Lodge will close its doors tomorrow (Friday, April 10) at noon in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

The closure includes all guest services, as well as overnight stays, fitness centres & health clubs, food & beverage offerings, spas and event spaces.

"We must support our local authorities as they work to halt the spread of COVID-19," the hotel posted on Facebook.

"This certainly isn’t goodbye, it’s farewell for now."

The closure comes as Parks Canada has urged people stay at home and cancel any plans to visit Jasper National Park this weekend.

Vehicle access by visitors is suspended and all visitor services and facilities remain closed.

Many hotels are closed in town, including

  • Pursuit hotels are closed: Chateau Jasper, Glacier View Lodge, Lobstick Lodge, Marmot Lodge, Pocahontas Cabins, Pyramid Lake Resort, Sawridge Inn & Conference Centre, The Crimson. All with anticipated early June opening dates.
  • Whistler’s Inn is closed.
  • Bear Hill Lodge is closed for April.
  • Jasper Inn and Suites is closed until further notice, including the hotel, pool and restaurant.
