Greyhound Canada'a Jasper location in the train station will close at end of business on Friday.

The company announced earlier this year it would cease operations in most provinces on Oct. 31.

“Please note, passenger pick up and drop off will continue as an E-Ticket Bus Stop with an outside bus shelter,” a spokesperson said in an email to the Fitzhugh on Wednesday afternoon. “Tickets can be purchased online at www.greyhound.ca.”

The company said its Hinton agency in the Esso station can accommodate all walkup and will call passengers on the eastbound schedule and its Valemount Petro Canada location can accommodate all walkup and will call passengers on the westbound schedule, or vice versa.

The company's statement did not address how or if freight would be affected by the change.
