Jasper will receive $250,000 towards replacing 170 water meters in the Municipality of Jasper, as part of $432,000 of capital funding for municipalities in West Yellowhead.

The funding comes through the Canada Community-Building Fund, which provides Canadian municipalities with permanent and stable funding for local infrastructure.

The remaining $182,000 has been allocated towards rehabilitating 2.5 kilometres of Range Road 115 in Yellowhead County.

In addition, over $1 million will support rural infrastructure upgrades in West Yellowhead through the Municipal Sustainability Initiative.

Specifically, $1,025,336 has been allocated towards rehabilitating a portion of Switzer Drive and Drinnan Road in the Town of Hinton.
