Police have issued an inter-provincial AMBER alert for a missing six-year-old girl they say has epilepsy and autism.
Emma OKeeffe was reported abducted by North Battleford RCMP at 5 p.m. Sunday. She is non-verbal, unable to walk and needs medication. She is three feet, six inches tall with brown hair cut in a bob style. She is wearing a navy blue long sleeve shirt, black jeans and pink socks. She was not wearing shoes.
The suspect vehicle is a dark grey 2010 Mercedes GL 350 SUV with Saskatchewan plate 897 HMX. There is no suspect description at this time.
According to a CBC report, police believe Emma was in the vehicle when it was stolen from outside a strip mall. They don't know the direction of travel of the vehicle, but said they believe it had half a tank of gas in it, and would be immobilized once it stops since it has a keyless entry system.
The same report quoted a family friend who said Emma can in fact walk.
