Letter: Premier Smith should not be demanding apology from Jasper

"I think you need to check your motives and close your eyes and try to think about the facts."
letter-to-the-editor

Dear Ms. Premier,

I am deeply, deeply disturbed by your assertion that you are "owed an apology" by the traumatized people and government of Jasper.

I think you need to check your motives and close your eyes and try to think about the facts. With respect, get off your high horse and try to lead the people of Alberta in the direction THEY want to go, instead of dragging them through the ash and mud toward your strange goal.

Richard Ireland is and has always been one of the finest men and mayors in Alberta. He has a council that listens to each other, and people check their motives and collaborate with each other, business leaders and Parks Canada. It sounds like you could benefit from learning how they work.

I lived in Jasper for a mere 12.5 years, promoted Jasper in my work role, had and raised three children there. About 200 people I know are homeless now. My soul is still there. I wonder where YOUR soul spends its time.
