ATHABASCA – Members of the Athabasca RCMP alongside trained Search and Rescue workers are continuing their search for Lorraine Popowich, 76, after the woman went missing May 7.

RCMP Staff Sgt. Mark Hall said the members appreciated the outpouring of support from the community but asked the public to stay away from the area while they worked to narrow down their grid.

“The two dogs that were with her have returned, and we’re hopeful that we can track them back to where she may be,” said Hall in a Friday morning interview.

Lorraine was last seen in northwest Athabasca County Tuesday evening. The 76-year-old is pale, stands 5 feet 1 inches tall, and weighs 100 pounds. She has white hair, blue eyes, and wears prescription glasses.

If you have any information on Lorraine’s whereabouts, please call the Athabasca RCMP detachment at 780-675-4252. If you wish to remain anonymous, you can contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), online at www. P3Tips.com or by using the “P3 Tips” app available through the Apple App or Google Play Store.
