Temperatures to soar to mid 30s

Make sure to pack extra water and wear sunscreen this weekend if you plan on venturing outdoors because temperatures are expected to soar into the mid-30s.

According to Environment Canada, temperatures in Jasper are expected to hit 33 degrees Celsius on Thursday, July 6 and rise to 34 degrees on both Friday and Saturday.

Despite the warm weather the temperature is expected to drop at night and hover between 8 and 10 degrees.

Temperatures will retreat to near normal by Sunday with a mix of sun and cloud and 24 degrees Celsius.

Normal temperatures for this time of year are a high of 21 degrees and a low of 7.

The last time temperatures were this hot was in 2006, according to Environment Canada.
