A party train of more than 30 women wearing high heels and dresses biked through town, May 27, to celebrate “Souper de Connes.”
The event, which roughly translates to dinner of fools, has become an annual event for many of Jasper’s Francophone women.
The event started about 10 years ago as a bachelorette party, but has since morphed into a larger event. Its name behind the event originally comes from a 1998 French comedy titled, Le dîner de cons.
To keep the party alive, many of the women donned boas and blew whistles and one woman even wore an old bride’s veil. There was also a bike with several tin cans dragging behind it.
The party train eventually ended up at Prime Rib City, where they continued the party well into the evening.
