A 60-year-old Jasper man has been charged with possession of crack cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, as a result of a search warrant executed Oct. 22.

The Jasper RCMP and members of Parks Canada's law enforcement branch executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a Jasper residence, Thursday, seizing a large amount of cash and 42.9 grams of crack cocaine, according to an RCMP press release.

John J. Kontos was subsequently arrested and charged with one count of possession of crack cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and one count of possession of property obtained by crime.

He will appear in Jasper Provincial Court Nov. 26.
