Over the Aug. 8th and 9th weekend, 12 members of the Jasper Red Fins swim team travelled to Edmonton for the annual regional championships.

Over the two-day event, the swimmers participated in a number of different events, including 50 m butterfly, 100 m breaststroke, and 800 m freestyle.

Many of the kids placed in the top six, and were then able to reswim in the timed finals. Among the swimmers who competed in the timed finals, Mistaya Duhamel, Pascale Robinson and Isabelle Glover qualified for the provincial championships. As well at the solo swims, three of the relay teams qualified for provincials as well.

Overall, the swimmers all met their personal goals, beat times and improved their strokes, and most importantly they all had a great time.

Red Fins is set to start again in May 2016.
