Two Jasperites have been charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking after the Jasper RCMP seized $100,000 worth of drugs during the execution of a search warrant, March 27.
As a result of the search, 34 ounces of cocaine and 4.6 grams of crystal meth were seized. According ot a press release, the RCMP estimates the street value of the drugs to be about $100,000.
Police also seized $14,332 in cash.
The search took place in a local residence and resulted in multiple charges.
Christopher Robert Field and Hillary Frances Key are both charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime and possession of a controlled substance.
Field is also charged with two counts of weapons/ammunition possession contrary to a prohibition order. He was remanded into custody following a bail hearing.
Key was released on conditions and $5,000 cash bail. Both are scheduled to appear in Jasper Provincial Court on April 14.
