At 11 a.m. sharp, the gates to Lion’s Park swung open, April 5, welcoming hoards of kids to the first annual Jasper Lion’s Club Easter Egg Hunt.

With more than 150 kids rushing around the park, it only took 10 minutes for all 800 plastic eggs to be scooped up into Easter baskets, and then playtime began, as Jasper’s youngsters enjoyed the swings, slides and monkey bars. As well as the egg hunt—which was the brainchild of Soto Korogonas, one of the Lion’s Club’s newest members—there was also face painting and a BBQ.

The festivities kept families in the park for a couple of hours, enjoying the fresh air and the opportunity to socialize.

The Lion’s Club is always looking for new members and encourages anyone who’s interested to contact Dave Nielson at 780-852-7273 or Soto Korogonas at 780-852-8844.
