Pedestrian hit at Athabasca Falls

Update July 14: A pedestrian suffered serious, but non-life threatening injuries after being hit by a vehicle shortly before 1 p.m. in the Athabasca Falls parking lot on July 12.

The 40-year-old man was transported to Jasper via ambulance and was airlifted to Edmonton by Stars Ambulance, according to police.

After securing the scene police contacted a collision reconstructionist to investigate.

As a result, a 17-year-old male have been charged with careless driving and driving without holding an operator’s licence.

Out of respect for the victim's family and to protect the identity of the young person involved in this incident, police said they will not be releasing any names.
