Carrying signs of gratitude and appreciation, more than 100 children and staff from Jasper Elementary School paraded through town last week to thank the town’s volunteers.

The parade started at the school with stops at the Jasper Activity Centre, the Jasper-Yellowhead Museum and Archives, the RCMP station, the Jasper Emergency Services Building, the Jasper Post Office and the Parks Canada Infomation Centre, before returning to the school.

In a break from tradition, staff decided to hold a parade instead of inviting the volunteers to the school.

The theme for this year was “You Brighten Up Our Lives.”
