Biking in Jasper during the magic of winter

Jasper is a town of hardy folk—a town where winter doesn’t mean putting your bike away, it just means layering up, maybe putting on studded tires or maybe even breaking out your fancy new fat bike. There are many of us who enjoy the fun and challenge of riding year-round.

Winter trails galore

Jasper has what might be the best trail system in the world, and our well-connected valley routes are a great way to experience nature in winter.

Last year, the Pyramid Trail was flat-packed, providing an excellent winter biking surface, as well as a portion of the Cabin Lake Fire Road which looped back to Pyramid Road.

A total of 10.5 km of flat packing will be offered again this season (great for walking, too). Additionally, winter bikers can explore the park’s 200 km of low-elevation official trails or the many frozen lakes.

To plan your next outing, check out the most recent conditions on the new and improved winter trails report at pc.gc.ca/jaspertrails.
