One thousand rubber duckies were dropped from the Miette River bridge on Highway 93, Sept. 29, marking the beginning of the 21st annual Duck Race.
The winning quacker—the first to cross the finish line near Tekkara Lodge—belonged to Heidi Fengler, who is now $1,000 richer. The second place duck, worth $300, was Candace Davis’ and the third, worth $200, belonged to John Polard.
The annual charity event raises funds for the Right to Read Society and Jasper-Yellowhead Museum and Archives.
