After an incredibly exciting B-Final between the Royal LePage Royals and the De’d Dog Outlaws—which ended in four-on-four overtime with a score of 5–4 in favour of the Outlaws—the Jasper Brewing Co. Barley Kings and O’Shea’s Hawks hit the ice for the Jasper Commercial League A-Final, March 30.
And within the first minute of play, it was clear the Kings—who won the championships in 2013—were in it to win it for a second year in a row. The fast moving team opened scoring just 50 seconds into the match, and it didn’t stop there. Within 10 minutes, the Kings were up 5–0.
Even after the Hawks got themselves on the scoreboard, bringing the score to 5–1, there was no stopping the reigning champions, who powered forward, garnering three more goals before the Hawks could score their second.
Ultimately, despite the efforts of the Hawks bench, the game would end with a score of 14–4 and a championship win for the Barley Kings.
