A group of 10 volunteers from the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge helped clean up Lake Annette Oct. 1.
The clean up was organized by the hotel's sustainability committee in conjunction with the Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup.
“Today is all about the Fairmont JPL sustainability committee giving back to the community,” said Jay Gibson, chair of the committee.
“With the seasonal staff that we have through the summer, Lake Annette gets quite a bit of use from our staff, as well as everyone in the park because it's a great day use area, so we figured let's give back to the community and clean up a spot we get a little bit of use out of as a group.”
Gibson said the hotel started the initiative in 2013 with a similar cleanup at Lac Beauvert.
