Saturday afternoon Centennial Park was turned on its head, as drag queens faced off against softball players in a balls out game of slow pitch. There were frying pans as bats and purses as mitts, as well as a slew of unusual rules—including a significant amount of hula-hooping and skipping.

The annual game of baseball “with a twist” is a fundraiser for the Emily Morgan Foundation. The foundation is named after a young girl who passed away at the age of 14, after battling cystic fibrosis.

Her uncle, Mychol Ormandy, has been hosting the baseball game in Jasper for the past four years to keep Emily’s memory alive and to raise funds for other families with sick children.

This year’s fundraiser, which wrapped up with a silent auction and Studio 54 disco party at the Jasper Legion, raised about $2,000.
