Museum to host wine and cheese night
Ron Brown, a professional photographer who lived in Jasper for more than 30 years, will be at the Jasper-Yellowhead Museum and Archives Oct. 10 for a free wine and cheese reception where he will talk about his photo exhibit featuring Mount Edith Cavell.
The black and white photo exhibit opened in mid-September and features eight photographs of the mountain taken over a 30-year period.
The exhibit is organized in conjunction with the 100th anniversary of the death of Edith Cavell, a British nurse who was murdered by a German firing squad during the First World War. The exhibit will be on display at the museum until Nov. 14.
In addition to the wine and cheese reception, which begins at 6 p.m., there will be also a live theatre performance about Edith Cavell’s life from 7 to 8 p.m., followed by an informal question and answer period.
The performance is organized in conjunction with the Jasper Theatre Company and Jasper Habitat for the Arts.
Tickets for the performance cost $10 for adults and $5 for seniors and kids.
