A 61-year-old woman is dead after a Sept. 4 collision on Highway 16 West. The woman, whose name is not being released, was driving westbound when she crossed the centre line into the path of an oncoming semi around 1:30 p.m.
The Jasper RCMP and Jasper Volunteer Fire Brigade responded to the accident.
According to the RCMP, the male driver of the semi attempted to avoid a collision, but was unable to do so. He was uninjured.
The collision resulted in a three-hour highway closure.
