The banquet department at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge was named the “department of the quarter” last week, but rather than basking in their accomplishment and reaping their reward, the staff turned their prize into an opportunity to give back.
The team, who won an all-expense-paid Valentine’s Day high tea, donated its prize to the seniors living in the Alpine Summit Seniors Lodge.
Thirty-five guests attended the fully-catered event, which included fresh baked scones and Devonshire cream, as well as personalized Valentine’s Day cards from the Fairmont staff, who served the seniors during the event.
“We were all very touched by the gesture,” said lodge manager Glen McGrath following the event.
