Jasper’s best barbecue artists fired up their grills, Aug. 31, to throw down in the Jasper Legion’s third annual BBQ Cook Off.
Taking the top prize—as voted by the many taste testers who attended the event—were the charred skewers prepared by Decore Hotels. Staff from the De’d Dog Pub took the title as the best baked bean chefs and Earls in the Rockies was the winner in the dessert category with its key lime pie.
Following the fabulous food, Canadian singer/songwriter Clayton Bellamy took the stage as the post-meal entertainment.
The cook off was created three years ago as a way of supporting the Military Police National Motorcycle Relay Ride, which rolls through town each August.
Proceeds from the event are donated to the two charities supported by the ride: the Military Police Fund for Blind Children and The Children’s Wish Foundation.
