The newest crop of Jasper Elementary grads were sent off June 26, in a walk down ceremony at the school’s final assembly, held in the Jasper Activity Centre.
Jasper Elementary School principal Raymond Blanchette-Dube told the class that even though they are leaving Jasper Elementary forever, they will continue to learn.
“For all students remember you are always learning, the community is your school - where you live and how you live,” he said.
Blanchette-Dubé also boasted to the crowd about the departing Grade 6 class.
“The Grade 6s have been a busy group of students. They have taken on many leadership roles in the school, helping to make JES a great place to learn,” he said, mentioning specifically how they embraced the fact that they were role models for younger students.
Next September, the group will start Grade 7 in the new joint school facility, meaning they will be the first class to go through their entire junior and senior high careers in the new building.
