Last week the Jasper Elementary School said goodbye to a batch of bright-eyed Grade 6s who will embark on their high school careers in September.
One by one each of the students was celebrated, as their teachers read descriptions of their personalities, their future career goals and their best memories at JES.
“This year has been exciting for our Grade 6s,” said Principal Raymond Blanchette-Dube during the walk down ceremony. “We witnessed them developing from tentative Grade 5s, well, most of them tentative, to very confident, powerful role models within our school and we thank them for the leadership they provided our students.”
Blanchette-Dube wished the students well and advised them to continue making positive choices.
“When you get to high school, we hope you will continue to arrive at those aha moments and keep on questioning to explore and discover.”
As well as honouring the students, Blanchette-Dube also used the assembly as an opportunity to thank all of the people who leant a hand to make the school year a success.
“We had a productive year and that wouldn’t have been as successful without the hard work and dedication of staff, volunteers, parents and the community. I thank each and every one of you for all that you have done.”
