Jasperites embraced their creativity, earlier this week, transforming milk jugs, detergent bottles, egg cartons, plastic containers, sticks and coiled metal into creatures of all shapes and sizes using paper mache.
The three-day puppet-making workshop was a lead-up to Alberta Culture Days, which kick off on Friday, and was organized by local puppeteer-extraordinaire Marie-Hélène Hamel.
Hamel taught the 17 participants to mix their own glue and how to create the shape they wanted by smoothing strips of glue-drenched newspaper over the recycled containers.
Once the form was completed and dry, the puppet makers moved over to the painting station, where they brought their creations to life.
