It was a buggy affair as more than 100 children and adults took over the Jasper Activity Centre for the bug boogie family dance May 22.
Dressed in their best bug costumes, children danced and played to tunes such as “Jitter Bug” and the “The Ants Go Marching.”
The highlight of the night included an appearance by Louie the Lightning Bug, ATCO Electric's mascot. Throughout the evening, children had the option of playing at various activity stations set up around the gymnasium, including bug races, pin the tail on the bug, face painting and an obstacle course.
There was also a “mocktail” bar serving delicious drinks such as beetle juice, ladybug slush, and worm punch, to name a few.
The bi-annual event is organized by Community Outreach Services and takes place every spring and fall.
