Wayne Hnatyshin will spend a second year at the helm of the Jasper Park Chamber of Commerce, after being acclaimed as president, June 10.

Hnatyshin is the director of operations at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge and was the vice-president of the chamber, during Ken Kuzminski’s reign.

Also acclaimed to the board was Joe Couture, who will remain the vice-president; Rusty Noble, who will remain the treasurer; and Guillermo Zuniga, who is taking on the role of secretary for the first year.

Couture is the president of the Jasper Home Accommodation Association; Noble is the general manager at the Icefields Centre; and Zuniga is the sales and marketing manager for the Jasper SkyTram.

Filling out the executive as board members are Dale Fullerton, owner and operator of Jasper Riding Stables; Heather Johnson, owner of Wild Orchid Salon and Spa; Dave Campbell, IT Technical Consultant; Soula Jackson, branch manager of ATB Financial; and Matt Figueira, publisher of the Fitzhugh.

The induction of the new executive board will take place in September, along with the adoption of the 2014 budget.

The chamber represents nearly 200 Jasper businesses. Its role is to “shine the boots” of all the visitors who come to town, and to advocate for its members when issues arise.
