After three years as president of the Jasper Park Chamber of Commerce, Ken Kuzminski passed on the torch to Wayne Hnatyshin, June 11.
Hnatyshin is the director of operations for Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge and was formerly the vice-president of the chamber. Kuzminski exhausted the three year maximum term for a chamber president and will now serve as past president.
Also named to the executive board at the annual general meeting was Joe Couture, president of the Jasper Home Accommodation Association, as vice-president; Jeremy Derksen, publisher of the Fitzhugh, as treasurer. Shelley Koebel, owner and operator of SnowDome Coffee Bar, as secretary; Deb Bottomley, owner of Elysian Flowers and Gifts; and Rusty Noble, general manager of the Columbia Icefields, as board members.
Following the election, Todd Noble, the current past president, joked, “I’m about to tear up because with that said, president Ken Kuzminski will now assume the position of past president.”
Returning board members are Alisen Charlten, owner and operator of Arc Photography; Tammy Vathje, owner and operator of Jasper Park Liquor and Beverage Co; and Dale Fullerton, owner and operator of Jasper Riding Stables.
The induction of the new executive board will take place in September.
